Addapearle is the Good Witch of the North in The Wiz. She was seen as the guardian and protector of the Munchkins until Evamene the Wicked Witch of the East came and took over. After Dorothy accidentally kills Evamene, Addapearle returns. Grateful to Dorothy she advices her in order to get back home she must go see The Wiz.

In 1974, Addapearle a wisecracking showgirl Witch. Her magic isn't seen as the best or a little rusty. She's portrayed by Broadway and film actress Clarice Taylor, best known for portraying Cliff Huxtable's mother Anna Huxtable on The Cosby Show.
Film
In 1978 Addapearle was changed a bit and given the name Miss One, a mathematical witch. She is portrayed by Thelma Carpenter . She takes on the role of a loving mother or grandmother towards the Munchkins as when she arrives they all begin to cheer as she greets them all and refers to the munchkins as her " Little Digits".

In 2015 the role of Addapearle was reprised by singer and actress Amber Riley. She is very similar to her counterpart in the Broadway show.
