Bermuda (historically known as the Bermudas or Somers Isles) is a British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic Ocean, 1,035 km (643 mi) away from the American state of North Carolina. Hamilton is the capital city.

Around 1903, American children's book creator W.W. Denslow used his shares from The Wizard of Oz stage musical play to purchase and become "king" of Bluck's Island, Bermuda, which is now sometimes called Denslow's Island.

Denslow used Bermuda as a crucial setting in Denslow's Scarecrow and Tin Man and The Pearl and the Pumpkin.
