Omaha is the largest city in the state of Nebraska in the United States of America. It was the birthplace of Oscar Zoroaster Diggs, the "Wizard," before he accidentally settled in the Land of Oz.

Formally, Omaha was founded in 1854 by settlers from nearby Council Bluffs, Iowa, though the earliest arrivals dated back to the 1840s. These facts would limit Diggs' age at the time of the adventures recorded in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

The Wizard's connection to Omaha is mentioned in a few film adaptations, including The Wizard of Oz (1939) and Wicked (2024 film).
