A Rak is a terrible beast with a horrible appetite and a bad disposition.

Description

It can fly in the air and run like a deer and swim like a fish. Inside its body is a glowing furnace of fire, and the Rak breathes in air and breathes out smoke which darkens the sky for miles around and smells of salt and pepper. It is bigger than a hundred men and feeds on any living thing.

History

The Rak encountered the army of Oogaboo and was shot by Private Jo Files, the bullets breaking its jaw, left wing, and right leg. Its jaw healed within an hour, its wing healed in a day, and its leg in a week, but the Army of Oogaboo was long gone by then. (Tik-Tok of Oz)
