Toto Unleashed is the first segment of the 2nd episode of Dorothy and The Wizard of Oz's 1st Season.

Plot

Dorothy is walking down the Yellow Brick Road with Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, and Toto as they look for a special pink flower for Ozma so she can craft a memory potion. Lion spots a massive field of flowers as they have to look through them searching for that one in particular. Toto however wants continue playing fetch with his blue ball. After Dorothy declines that plus a belly rub, Tin Man obliges to throw the ball but accidently gets his arm dislocated for which Lion helps put that back in place.

Meanwhile at the Wicked Witch's castle, Wilhelmina orders to fetch Frank and Lyman her the crystal ball. Lyman runs over and comes back with it in hand, but then slips on a banana peel that Frank just dropped on the ground while was eating a banana. Lyman slips through and Wilhelmina grabs the crystal ball as she asks it to show her Dorothy as she observes them in the flower field. She asks herself where Toto is because she doesn't see him in the image and focuses on him while wishing that she had a pet like him. She then tells Lyman and Frank that she has a plan.

At the flower field, Dorothy finds the pink blossom which with one sniff gives her a flashback of running with Toto while in Kansas. Just then Lyman and Frank fly above Toto who barks at them for whom Dorothy doesn't notice because she is gazing at the flower. The two flying monkeys lure Toto by briefly playing fetch before Frank flies off with him ball in mouth. Toto barks while in the sky but Dorothy and friends don't notice since they are happy they found the flower. Dorothy then looks for Toto and they start calling out his name as none of them saw the two monkeys fly off with him.

At the castle Wilhelmina welcomes Toto and implies that will be his new home but he scratches himself causing fur to shed that gets all over her cloak. Frank acknowledges that Toto isn't on board with the idea of him becoming her pet. Wilhelmina picks Toto up and shows him around the castle including a shelf filled with colorful ball which doesn't interest him nor piles of kibble in every flavor plus toilet flavored water. She puts him drop and picks up a squishy squirrel toy but still Toto is unamused and turns around kicking some dirt while all this time Lyman is more enthusiastic and fetches the squirrel toy when Wilhelmina throws it. She picks Toto up again to show him a shelf filled with bones and toys but he is still uninterested while Lyman is.

At the field Dorothy and her friends are desperately searching for Toto while she can't understand how he disappeared. Lion makes a comment pertaining to how it's as if Toto flew away which Tin Man notes isn't possible while Dorothy wonders aloud and then notices two banana peels before putting together that flying monkeys abducted Toto. They realize they have to go to Wilhelmina's castle despite Lion's fears.

At the castle Toto is pawing at one of the windows looking outside while whimpering as Wilhelmina doesn't understand why he is upset after trying to provide him with everything he might want as she flies outside on her broom to ask him but then accidentally falls off. Frank answers the obvious that Toto wants Dorothy but Wilhelmina flips through her spell book looking for magic that could make Toto love her instead. She finds one and casts it on his collar which enchants him as he walks into her arms. Just then Dorothy and her friends arrive at the castle door which has many locks, so she uses the Ruby Slippers to teleport them inside. Wilhelmina has Toto fetch his ball twice before they appear in front of him at the room. Dorothy tries to apologize but Toto ignores her due to the spell and walks the ball back to Wilhelmina who claims he is happier to be with her as he barks in agreement.

Dorothy falls down in despair and starts to cry while Lion comforts her as he grabs the memory flower thinking that might cheer her up. One sniff causes a flashback to Kansas where she enjoyed ice cream with Toto and chased him around a field. She leans over and has Toto sniff the flower as the memories draw in while Wilhelmina still has her magic on him. The two converging causes the spell to wear off and Toto jumps into Dorothy's arms. Wilhelmina concedes and Dorothy remarks that love is stronger than magic as she teleports them back to the Emerald City.

Wilhelmina in dismay asks who needs a pet before realizing that Frank and Lyman are willing to play fetch with her as the episode ends.
